    What are Hairstyling Products?

Hairstyling products change the texture and shape of the hair or hold a hairstyle in place.

It gives the style of cutting and arranging hair using products to create an attractive presentation.

    Types Of Hairstyling Products

    Hair gel

    Hair styled with hair gel

Hair gel is a styling product used to stiffen hair into a specific hairstyle.

The result is similar but more potent than hairspray. Hair gel is most commonly used in men’s styling, but it is not gender specific.

Hair gel can come in tubes, bottles, small sachets, or spray form.

    Hair wax

A small bottle of hair pomade

Hair wax is a thick hair styling product that contains wax that helps hold hair in place.

Unlike some products, like hair gel, which gives hair a hard texture, hair wax makes hair supple.

Many manufacturers are now marketing different versions of hair wax, such as pomade, putty, glue, glypto, whip, and styling paste.

    Hair mousse

Hair mousse is a product added to hair to give it more volume and shine.

It is most commonly made in foam form but can also be found in aerosol form.

Hair mousse adds volume without causing clumps or build-up.

It is a lighter alternative to hair gel.

The mousse is usually applied to the roots of damp hair before drying or styling.

Mousse can also be used to add definition to curls or add texture to hair for a beachy effect.

    Ointment

Pomade is an oil or water-based product designed to make hairstyles smooth and tight.

Unlike hairspray and hair gel, pomade doesn’t dry out and often requires multiple washes to remove.

Degreasing shampoos and deep cleansing conditioners can be used to speed up the removal process.

Other removal methods include olive oil, dish soap, and lemon juice.

Most oil-based ointments contain petroleum jelly (and, in fact, petroleum jelly can be used alone as an ointment) and mineral oil, and many also have some type of wax.

hey may also contain fragrances and dyes.

A large number of pomades are still made today, varying in factors such as weight, sheen, and scent.

Stiffer ones have a higher percentage of beeswax, while lighter ones may have a higher percentage of oils.

    Hairspray

Hairspray is a common aqueous household solution used to set hair into a specific style.

It was first designed and manufactured in 1948 by Chase Products based in Broadview, Illinois.

It is weaker than hair gel or hair wax and is sprayed directly onto the hair to keep the hairstyle for a long time.

Also, it is evenly sprayed onto the hair with a pump or spray nozzle.

The product can leave hair feeling “gristy” if left unbrushed.

    Hair volume booster

Hair volumizers are used to temporarily add volume, fullness and shine to thin or straight hair.

Also, hair volume enhancers are used by both men and women.

Men use hair volumizers to make their hair look thicker.

Volumizers come in many forms, such as shampoos, conditioners, sprays, pomades, and lotions.
